Get the key into your hands
New players spawn beside their house, and the starting motorcycle is parked in the garage next to it. Walking at it with empty hands does not start anything.
The key is a hotbar item. Press 1 to equip it, then use it on the bike. The uploader in the beginner video does this before touching anything else, which is why the bike sits dead until that step is done.
If nothing happens when you press 1, look at your hotbar before blaming the bike: the key has to be the selected slot, not just present in the inventory.
Unlock, switch on, kickstand up
Three interactions sit between holding the key and riding, and the game checks all of them.
- Unlock the bike with the key you just equipped.
- Switch the power on.
- Raise the kickstand.
The recordings do not show a hover prompt naming each part, so read the bike itself: the ignition and the stand are what the rider aims at. A bike with the stand still down will not pull away, and that is the most common reason a first session stalls.
Electric bikes have a fourth condition: a bike that is still plugged into a charger has to be unplugged before it will move. The charger rules are on Charge the battery.
Mount and pull away
F is the mount key in the recordings, and the same key also takes an available quest from a quest giver. Once you are on the bike, W feeds power to the wheels and you roll forward.
NexRide also has an easy driving mode that can be changed at any time, which is worth switching on for your first delivery run if the traffic feels twitchy. The recordings confirm the option exists; they do not show which menu holds it, so look through the settings rather than a specific button.
When the starter bike stops feeling like enough, the next purchase is covered in Buy your first bike.
Controls once you are moving
The key list recorded in play is short, and every entry below was read off the screen or the caption track rather than assumed from other bike games.
- W: accelerate.
- Shift + W: lift the front wheel into a wheelie.
- Shift again: drop the front wheel back down.
- F: mount the bike, and take a quest from a quest giver.
- T: open the phone, which holds Next Dash, the market and the store.
- E: the general interact key, used for doors and switches.
Crashing is not the end of a run. The rider in the beginner video came off, got the bike back up and kept riding. The recordings do not show which key lifts a fallen bike, so treat that as unconfirmed rather than following a guess.
Wheelie and near miss cash covers what that shift wheelie is actually worth per second.
When the bike will not start
Work down this list; each row comes from a step the recordings actually show.
| Symptom | Cause to check first | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing responds | Key not equipped | Press 1 so the key is in your hand |
| Bike is silent | Power still off | Unlock with the key, then switch the power on |
| Power is on but it will not roll | Kickstand still down | Raise the stand before touching W |
| Still will not move | Charger cable attached | Unplug the bike, then try again |
| On the bike, W does nothing | Not in drive yet | Press F to mount and engage, then hold W |
Two of these five are the usual culprits in first sessions: the kickstand and the charger. If all five are clear and the bike still will not move, the recordings give no further diagnosis, so rejoin and start the sequence again rather than repeating inputs on a stuck frame.
