NexRide Police Chases, Fines and Escapes

Checked

NexRide enforces municipal traffic laws, and reckless riding in front of patrol units triggers an active police pursuit. While staying ahead of the cruiser gives you a chance to claim a cash bounty between $400 and $600, failing to escape ends with an immediate cash fine that can erase your recent earnings. Understanding pursuit mechanics helps you decide when to flee and when to keep your riding clean.

What starts a pursuit

Police in NexRide do not chase you at random. Pursuits are triggered by observed traffic violations on public roadways.

In the recorded runs we examined, blowing through an intersection on a red signal directly in front of a traffic police cruiser caused the officer to engage sirens and initiate a pursuit. Patrol cars actively navigate streets and will pull into your lane to cut off your line of travel. If you run red lights without officers nearby, pursuits do not immediately register, but crossing an active police intersection guarantees an escort.

Read the pursuit HUD

NexRide pursuit HUD: three wanted stars, a PURSUIT tag, and ON THE RUN showing 5:00 wins $400-600 with 1:53 left

The chase panel, cropped so the text is readable on a phone: wanted stars, the PURSUIT tag, and the on-the-run line reading 5:00 wins $400-600 with 1:53 still on the clock. Frame from the beginner guide recording at 0:50.

When an officer begins chasing your motorcycle, your interface changes to display three pursuit indicators:

  • Wanted Stars: Displayed on the screen header to reflect your active fugitive rating.
  • PURSUIT Banner: A persistent alert showing that law enforcement is currently tracking your motorcycle.
  • ON THE RUN Timer: A countdown clock displaying the time remaining until the chase expires, alongside the projected cash bounty.

While this timer ticks down, police cars will attempt to intercept you, ram your rear wheel, or box you against curbs. You can still perform stunts during a pursuit to earn small increments, as detailed in Wheelie and near miss cash, but maintaining speed takes priority.

The on-the-run bounty

The ON THE RUN display advertises a tempting prize of $400 to $600 cash. However, this money is only deposited into your wallet if you successfully survive the full duration of the countdown clock without being stopped.

Because a standard Next Dash delivery pays between $166 and $400 without the danger of a penalty, chasing bounties is high-variance income. If you hit cross-traffic, flip your bike, or get cornered before the timer reaches zero, the bounty is lost. To test how chase risks impact your hourly earnings versus running back-to-back delivery orders, plug your times into the Cash rate calculator.

Fines against the payout

Running from the police is an expensive gamble. If an officer corners your bike, pins your motorcycle against terrain, or pulls alongside after you tumble, the encounter terminates with an arrest.

Getting caught does not simply end the chase. The game deducts a cash fine directly from your current account balance.

In the full-guide footage we analyzed, the player received an immediate cash deduction upon apprehension. This fine is large enough to wipe out the entire payout of a completed delivery job. If your account holds low funds, paying repeated fines can leave you unable to purchase new parts or save toward new motorcycles.

How to end a chase

NexRide offers two outcomes once a pursuit begins:

Outcome Trigger Financial result
Successful escape Keep moving and stay mobile until the ON THE RUN timer reaches 0 You collect the advertised $400 to $600 bounty
Apprehension / fine Stopping, tumbling, or allowing the patrol car to pull alongside You receive no bounty and pay an immediate cash fine

To clear the pursuit successfully, keep your throttle open on open boulevards, avoid narrow alleyways where police cruisers can pinch you, and maintain speed until the countdown clock hits zero.

What we could not confirm: We could not confirm whether police units lose tracking if you break line-of-sight behind buildings, whether driving into your residential garage forcibly clears wanted stars, or if the fine amount increases based on the number of stars displayed.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What triggers the police in NexRide?

Traffic rules are enforced. Running a red light in front of traffic police started a chase in the recorded run.

Do chases pay or cost money?

Both. The on-the-run timer advertises a bounty, and being caught takes a fine out of your cash.
